Lord, Make Me Steadfast

A Word Before We Pray

The night before I prayed about this prayer, I heard God say “steadfast,” and 1 Corinthians 15:58 came to mind.

There is nothing more powerful than praying the Word of God and His promises back to Him.

That’s the winning formula for results and answered prayers!

If You Are Feeling Weary…

Are you weary, in doubt, or feeling tossed around by life and overwhelming circumstances?

God wants to steady your mind, rid you of the spirit of fear and anxiety, and draw you to Himself and His truth.

Let’s pray, “Lord, make me steadfast.”

Yahweh,

I ask that You forgive me for the sins that I have committed against You, Father.

Holy Spirit, please lead and guide me on what to pray.

Last night, I heard You say, “steadfast.”

Therefore, I pray, Father, that You would make me steadfast, immovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord because I know that my labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Make me unwavering, loyal, and firmly fixed in You.

Help me to be focused, strong, and free from distraction.

Like a dog with a bone, I want to be firmly persistent in You, Father, and in Your truth.

I want to be overflowing in the work, accomplishments, and enterprise that You set out for me to complete before the foundations of the world, in Jesus’ name.

I bind consistency, faithfulness, and tenacity to my mind and life in the face of opposition and change.

I declare that I will stay grounded in my convictions, Your Word, and Your promises while resting in Your strength and power.

I won’t give in to worry, fear, pressure, or doubt!

Allow me to keep watch and be alert. Sharpen my spiritual sight and discernment so that I will not fall into calamity, iniquity, or the snare of the enemy.

Make me courageous and strong! (1 Corinthians 16:13)

Let me be vigilant in prayer and studying the Bible so that I may rightly divide the Word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

Second Timothy 4:2 instructs me to preach the Word, to be prepared whether the time is favorable or not, and to patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage Your people with good teaching.

Allow me to never turn my ears from the truth, keep a clear mind in every situation, endure afflictions, and do the work of an evangelist. (2 Timothy 4:4–5)

And when I ask, let me ask in faith, nothing wavering. (James 1:6)

I bind up double-mindedness, instability, uncertainty, doubt, restlessness, and divided interest in my thinking, feeling, deciding, ways, and habits.

In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.
