Father God,
I come to You with a humble heart, praying for my child to reach his/her goals.
Before I start, I want to first ask for forgiveness for not being loving, kind, merciful, and full of grace in my communication with him/her.
I also want to thank You for pointing this out to me and for Your correction.
Yahweh, You are a loving Father and a perfect example for us to follow when it comes to extending grace, love, patience, and mercy to our children, particularly our teenagers.
Thank You for revealing the areas where I fall short and please help me to grow and hit the mark as a godly mother to my child/children.
I want to bear the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in all my dealings with my child/children. Galatians 5:22-23
I want to be an imitator of You, God. And walk in love, as Christ also loved me and gave Himself for me, an offering and a sacrifice to You for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2
I want to walk in the light as a mother, knowing that I am light in the Lord.
Holy Spirit, your fruit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. Please continue to show me what is acceptable to the Lord concerning my life and my parenting. Ephesians 5:8-9
As I interact with my child/childen, I don’t want to have any fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. Ephesians 5:10
Allow me to have patience with my child. I don’t want to expect unrealistic perfection from my child or expect them to mature overnight.
Especially when I know that even in my best attempts, I fall short as well.
Remind me to always leave room for him/her to grow.
I also bind up the enemy’s plan that would cause a strain in our relationship.
Instead, allow us to grow closer throughout this journey.
I bind up any ungratefulness in my child’s disposition and attitude, and lack of forgiveness or offense on my end.
I loose the compassion of God in my heart and over this situation.
Lastly, Holy Spirit, give me the effective prayer strategy from the Lord that will help my child reach their goals and live out God’s will for their life.
In times of disappointment, I speak out of my anger. Please forgive me for this. The Bible says that human anger does not bring about the righteousness that God desires. James 1:20
Allow me to always walk in wisdom. Let my speech be clothed in love, and the fruit of my words be wrapped in kindness. Let it be with grace and seasoned with salt, holy, wise, gracious, wholesome, courteous, respectful, desirable, and worthy of being kept in my children’s memory. Colossians 4:5-6
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
