14 Scriptures to Help You Be Spiritually Fit

Introduction

This is Part 3 of the Spiritually Fit Blog Series.

If you’ve already prayed to become Spiritually Fit (Part 1) and started practicing the 14 daily habits (Part 2), then this list of Scriptures will help you stay rooted in the Word and strong in your faith.

These aren’t just motivational verses—they’re spiritual fuel.

1. Joshua 1:8 (NLT)

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”

2. Psalms 119:4–7 (NKJV)

“You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently.
Oh, that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes!
Then I would not be ashamed, when I look into all Your commandments.
I will praise You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your righteous judgments.”

3. Psalms 119:20 (NKJV)

“My soul breaks with longing for Your judgments at all times.”

4. Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)

“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

5. 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NLT)

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.
It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.”

6. 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NIV)

“Rejoice always,
pray continually,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

7. Philippians 4:6–7 (NLT)

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

8. Matthew 28:16–20 (NKJV)

“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them.
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying,
‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”

9. James 5:16 (NKJV)

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

10. Hebrews 10:24–25 (NIV)

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

11. Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV)

let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”

but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.”
